RECENT CHANGES
We keep a dated history for every access note. Corrections and withdrawn notes are listed here so earlier wording is never silently replaced.
Dates are when we read the source, not when anyone visited. Each venue page also shows the full history under every note. How sources and dates work
Rechecked 102 notes against their live sources; unchanged notes are not listed.
Rechecked against the state trail listing; added its steep-hill warning from the museum parking lot and the switch to a dirt trail.
Current wording: The Big Bone Creek Trail, part of the park's Discovery Trail, has a mostly flat, half-mile paved loop with views of two salt springs, starting behind the visitor center. The state page warns of a steep hill down at the start of the trail from the museum parking lot; beyond the loop the trail becomes dirt.
Rechecked: the two-week notice applies to other accommodations, not explicitly to memory-loss tours; listed the sensory bag contents.
Current wording: Sensory bags include fidgets, hearing protection, a sensory narrative and a sensory map. Free tours for visitors with memory loss and their caregivers are offered; contact the center to schedule.
Rechecked against the source; added its strobe/photosensitive-epilepsy warning and the flashing lights in the Corruption exhibit.
Current wording: Complimentary sensory kits, noise-reducing earmuffs and earplugs are available at the Welcome Center and Guest Services. The 4D theater shows use strobe and flashing lights (the museum warns guests with photosensitive epilepsy), loud audio, shaking seats and puffs of air. The first Corruption exhibit also has mild flashing lights and sounds of war and pain; it can be passed through quickly.
Source no longer contains the statement this note described (Great Parks removed its paved-trail statement); note withdrawn.
Withdrawn wording: Sharon Woods is specifically excluded from Great Parks' blanket statement about accessible paved shared-use trails.
The original catalog notes added on Sep 10, 2026 are not listed individually.
